Who can trigger a claim?

Costs under ticket insurance can arise if a claim is triggered by the insured person themselves, a relative, or a caregiver.

Insured person (Ticket holder from the order confirmation)

This includes all persons for whom insurance has been purchased. If an insured person triggers a insured event, they can claim on their ticket insurance for their ticket.

If fewer than six people are on an invoice with the same order number and attend the same event, all these people are covered, provided that ticket insurance has been purchased for all of them.

Caregiver of a ticket holder

Caregivers who look after minor and/or dependent relatives of a ticket holder can also trigger a claim if an insured event occurs for them and the insured person therefore has to stay home, take care of the respective relative themselves and consequently miss or cannot attend the event.

Family member of the ticket holder

A claim can also be triggered if a family member not attending the event causes an insured event. In such case, ticket holders can stay home and remain with their family member instead.

This applies to the following persons:

  • Spouse / partner
  • Parents / adoptive parents / foster parents / stepparents / parents-in-law
  • Child / adoptive child / foster child / stepchild
  • Siblings
  • Grandparents
  • Aunt / uncle
  • Niece / Nephew
  • Cousin
  • Brother-in-law / sister-in-law
